Gitmo’s future: Ted Cruz analyzes the risk of relocating detainees

Whether Guantanamo prisoners are relocated to foreign facilities or to Illinois, Sen. Ted Cruz believes best way to mitigate the risk of re-engagement in terrorist activity is if the detainees remain detained. “It is hard to have any confidence that if these individuals are sent to a foreign facility that they will not in due course be released, and in due course commit future acts of terrorism, taking the lives of innocent Americans,” said Cruz.
